Human Diagnostic Collective are tackling the global pandemic with a collective approach to diagnosis devlopment.
HDC are UK based not for profit connecting engineers, scientists and designers to tackle the COVID 19 pandemic through diagnostic development. They approached us to design a brand that boldly stated their mission, their values and their message.
Logo Design
We started by designing a logo inspired by both the urgency of their mission and their collective approach. After working through a variety of ideas we settled on a logo mark that is simple and graphic. Within the mark there are a number of hidden shapes: there is an hour glass, suggesting the urgency of their work; the figure of a person, connoting their collective human centric approach, and when set next to itself the mark is a chain, denoting both DNA and the strength we can assume through collaboration. The mark is further flexible and we used it throughout their website as the basis for a variety of graphics and patterns.
Building the Brand
We chose a bright colour palette that reflects the importance of HDC's mission. We designed a visual language, using the logo as a base, that can be used across a variety of mediums and media. As well as these assets we worked with the founders of HDC to develop their brand messaging, narrative, values and visual language. Working alongside their team we developed their vision and funding deck.
